On Monday 16 March, Rugby Australia along with the State and Territory Member Unions met to review the continuing Coronavirus pandemic. Following advice from Rugby Australia’s Chief Medical Officer, it was decided to postpone all Community Rugby until the first week of May. This decision covers Rugby matches and training.
As a result, Kiwi Hawthorn will not be training or playing matches until the all clear is given, hopefully in early May.
Although we are greatly disappointed that the situation has warranted this decision, we do support it in the interests of keeping all our Kiwi Hawthorn families and the extended community as safe as possible.
Rugby Victoria have stressed that the 2020 season is not cancelled. We expect that the season will be shortened to allow for a couple of weeks of pre-season training then matches as usual when rugby resumes in May.
