On May 1, Rugby Victoria announced it is in the advanced stages of planning to recommence Rugby in Victoria and are hopeful, on advice to that date, of seeing training and matches recommence in July, with a season extended to October to allow for the delayed start to the season.

As a result, Kiwi Hawthorn will not be training or playing matches until the all clear is given, hopefully in early July.

Although we are greatly disappointed that the situation has warranted this decision, we do support it in the interests of keeping all our Kiwi Hawthorn families and the extended community as safe as possible.

Rugby Victoria have stressed that the 2020 season is not cancelled. We expect that the season will be shortened to allow for a couple of weeks of pre-season training then matches as usual when rugby resumes in July.
