Today our Juniors enjoyed a mild autumn morning as they headed back to the Box Hill ground for Round 2 of skills & drills training with the Rebel Rascals Development Officers. Today the focus was around running and passing to teammates and they showed excellent skills all round, especially for such a new team!
After skills & drills were completed it was game time and we lined up against the Harlequins. Again, we got off to a flying start with great running & passing. Leo led the team around the field and starred in attack and defence. Henry was great again, running hard and passing well and great in defence. Alice & Luke also managed to find the try line and Mani stepped up again from last week and again, never gave up! Julien brings energy to the side and today he showed huge courage, chasing hard, tagging and stopping the opposition from scoring. We were also very fortunate to gain another new recruit today. Elias’ support play and running saw him cross the try line and he showed huge promise for the season. We are delighted to welcome Elias to the Kiwi Hawthorn Juniors.
After the game, the medal for this week’s Best & Fairest was deservedly awarded to Leo. From the start Leo was supportive in attack, covering the field in defence and staying committed throughout. Well done Leo!
Again, great work to everyone involved on and off the field. We have a special team forming here. Please feel free to bring along any “wannabe Wallabies” to join our team. We look forward to seeing you all at training on Tuesday
