REGISTRATION FOR OUR 2023 SEASON NOW OPEN

We’re really excited about the coming season and getting everyone running around making friends and enjoying their rugby.  And we’d love YOU to be part of it!

The game for all

This year we will again be offering:

• contact rugby for boys & girls aged 7-12 and girls 14-18;
• non contact rugby for boys aged 6 and girls aged 6-15 (Touch7s); and
• little rugby tikes fun, skills and drills for girls and boys aged 3-5

(based on the age of the player at 1 January 2023).

The season proper begins from the first Saturday in Term 2 and runs through to mid August or the end of Term 3 for U11 and up teams who make the finals, with a break for the Term 2/3 school holidays.

Summer 7s
We’re super-excited to announce our sensational Summer7s series will continue into Term 1, 2023. 5 weeks of fast, fun-packed touch rugby is 100% FREE for 2023 Kiwi Hawthorn Juniors registered players. Starts Feb 7. More details here.

Come ‘n Try Tuesdays
Throughout our 2023 season any boy or girl can join us at our Come ‘n Try Tuesday open training sessions.  These sessions are great fun, free way to see if Rugby is right for you.

Training
Pre-season training is at Anderson Park, Anderson Road in East Hawthorn every Tuesday in February & March, 5.15-6.15pm then training continues at our training ground at Highfield Park, Camberwell (South oval), 5:30pm – 6:30pm. You can join at any time throughout the season.

Our training sessions are fun filled and never boring.  We use games to develop skills, teach the game and build character, a key part of the rugby ethos.

Home games
Home games will be played on Saturday mornings from the start of Term 2 at beautiful Lewin Reserve.

Girls Program
We are thrilled to once again offer a dedicated Girls Rugby program in 2023!  More details of our fantastic Girls Rugby program here.

Little Rugby Tikes
Got a little one who can’t wait to start rugby?  Our Little Rugby Tikes program is perfect for kids aged 3-5.  Please contact us to discuss the program and registration (ie do not register using Rugby Xplorer below).

Weight for age
Rugby Victoria has introduced weight-for-age bandings in the contact version of the game, to help make rugby safer and more welcoming for kids of all sizes.

As part of the registration process therefore, each child’s height (in cm) and weight (in kg) are required.  We recommend that you take measurements before starting the registration process.

Schmick Kit
In addition to playing our great game and joining a great group of families, every boy and girl who registers with Kiwi Hawthorn gets our fantastic training jersey plus socks & shorts, all included in your subs! We’ve also got a great range of club merchandise that will have you warm as toast and looking the goods in no time, including caps, hoodies and gear bags.

Of course you can buy any or all of the above for your child or yourself and help support our growing club! Speak to your team manager about ordering your kit.

Incredible value
Our subs are just $240 for the season or $220 for U7s!

All registrations include limited insurance coverage and all player registrations are subject to Rugby Australia’s player terms and conditions.

The Victorian Government and the City of Boroondara are each offering Health Care card or Pensioner card holders up to $200 to cover the cost of community sport fees & equipment, so your membership of our great community rugby club could be just about free.

We already have a number of new families joining us but are always open and ready to welcome more, so spread the word and bring a friend along!

RugbyXplorer is Rugby Australia’s on-line registration process that ensures each player is properly registered and eligible for insurance.

During registration, all players should select ‘XV Juniors’ except for U14 and above girls who should select ‘XV Girls’ as below:
