A glorious day for rugby as our girls shone yet again at our home ground. Racing came to play again and both teams showed real class today. Our Redback Girls really stepped up and put all their hard work at training to the test.

Alice was named Captain for the match and combining nicely with Bella, the two girls wasted no time in putting points on the board.

We welcomed Claire & Holly back this week and the two girls proved how valuable they are to this team, constantly filling defensive gaps and slowing down the attack. With ball in hand, Claire found space through the middle and showed the rest how the straightest route to the try line is often the simplest!

Poppy continued her great run from last week by also straightening her running and passing beautifully to her teammates. Lola joined in the action and contributed to slowing down the Racing girls and the smallest girl on the field made us very proud as she chased hard and tagged all day!

Amelia found space through the middle and around the edges, also scoring some beautiful tries. Every week Amelia has shown great team spirit and leadership, earning her this weeks Team Player of The Day medal. Well done Amelia!

We can’t wait to see how these Redbacks line up on Sunday for the VRU Girls Viva 7’s. They are showing some amazing skills and game smarts for such a new team, one wonders how good they could possibly become over the remainder of the season…

See you all on Sunday afternoon at Anderson Park for some more Viva 7’s fun!!
