What a star-studded night!
Our Touch7s girls were asked to play an exhibition match at AAMI Park on Friday night, against the might of Racing Rugby.
After blowing away some of the cobwebs with a warm up on Gosch’s Paddock, we were thrilled to meet Olympian and Gold Medallist, Ellia Green!
Ellia brought her Rio Gold Medal for all to see and try on and some of her training gear, including shorts and tops for the girls to have and remind them that wearing gold is within their grasp! Thank you Ellia!
We also met and played with members of the magnificent Melbourne Rebels Super W Womens Rugby team, who as always, were great role models and great fun.
Then, inspired and warmed up it was on to the main game, under lights at AAMI and our girls did the club proud with rapid fire passing and Coach Pete’s signature pick & GO!
There was also another rugby match played before and after ours that was fun to watch (Go REBELS!)
A fantastic pre-season start for our girls, who can’t wait for the season to begin.
